Eudaimonia: Book Club - 'Mindfulness & Meditation' edition
Hi All,
As discussed in my previous blog post and IG posts - part 1 & part 2, Summer is upon us in the Northern Hemisphere and that means only one thing! READING!!!!!
I wanted to introduce this book club project where I share recommended book lists under each theme. This week's theme is 'Mindfulness & Meditation' and the summary of each book can be found in my blog as well.
Hope this inspires you to pick up some books. Let me know which books you liked the most and any takeaways you would like to share! Also, if you have books that you would like to recommend, please share them with me as well! No judgment - always looking for inspiration! :)
Thanks,
EJ
📖First ten books + summary:
1. Meditation - Marcus Aurelius (AD 161 to 180): This is hands down my all-time favorite book that I will probably cherish till my final days. What sets his words apart is the dual perspective he offers: he's been there and done that. He has personally experienced the battlegrounds and the weight of leadership on his throne as a Roman emperor. His wisdom isn't mere theory but rather extracted from the crucible of existence. It's one thing to speak the right words, but to embody them, especially with fairness and justice, is a true challenge. Hope you enjoy this masterpiece!
2. Power of Now - Eckart Tolle (1997)
3. New Earth - Eckart Tolle (2005)
4. The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom - Don Miguel Ruiz (1997)
5. Inward - Yung Pueblo (2017)
6. The Monk and the Philosopher - Jean Francoise Revel and Matthieu Ricard (1997)
7. Â Silence - Erling Kagge (2016)
8. The Pilgrimage - Paulo Coelho (1987)
9. The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself - Michael A. Singer (2007) Â
10. Wherever you go, there you are: Mindfulness meditation in everyday life - Jon Kabat-Zinn (1994)
