START HERE: Climate Science for Busy People
Hi Folks,
Thanks for checking this section out! π
As some of you may know, sustainable development/ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is my life passion. So, I've been thinking about sharing some knowledge on sustainability that I've accumulated over the years and what I'm currently learning in real-time, as this space is ever evolving!
When I completed my 'Sustainability' Master's Certificate program with Harvard University (3-year journey across NYC, London and Cambridge) in 2020, I asked myself: what next? 'What can I do to better serve the Earth and contribute in elevating humanity + animals on this planet?β and soon I came to the realization that knowledge is power and knowledge sharing and education is the only way to better myself and ourselves collectively. This became clearer as I started to talk more about the topic at industry conferences, incl. a small lecture to students at Cambridge University. So, in 2020, I started a newspaper on this topic and circulated it to close friends ππ under the disguise of 'my favorite things,' but now I am trying to create a dedicated space for it.
So, here we are! π
In the spirit of sharing knowledge, I will go over some factual information and climate science concepts here. This is my small attempt to make a change one step at a time, beginning with myself.
I also understand that many people are juggling multiple responsibilities and may not have the time to read climate science books, research, and watch lectures amidst their busy schedules in this rapidly evolving world, so I will do the work for you and try to keep things bite-sized that are easy to digest. I am also incorporating my perspectives and insights based on my industry experience of 10 years, Harvard's Sustainability program, CFA ESG Certificate, and GARP Sustainability Climate Risk (SCR) Certificate study materials.
We can bring light into a dark room with one small lit candle and I wish to be that initiating candle in my vicinity. I respect everyoneβs opinion and I do not plan on judging other people or imposing my opinions upon others. I am simply sharing some ideas and posing a question to ponder upon as that is the only way we can make progress and move forward as a civilization.
As always, welcome any suggestions and feedback!
